CDI-Bwamanda is... |
Integral Development of a Region |
CDI-Bwamanda is operating on endurable and viable rural areas in the South. Established in 1969, CDI reaches nowadays more than 800,000 people in the North-Equator Province in DR Congo. The activities of CDI within the DR Congo have expanded to other regions such as the capital city Kinshasa and the Bandundu Province. For ten years already, we have also been working in Benin, a collaboration with the Stichting Hubi en Vinciane, situated in the Borghu department. |

Fair Incomes |
Agriculture, characterized by fair wages and income for the local farmers are fundamental premises for an economic growth in rural areas. On the one hand, CDI-Bwamanda assists local farmers to increase production rates. On the other hand, we support local farmers to organize themselves and to unite in farmer organizations. Surplus of agricultural products are bought up by CDI-Bwamanda at fair prices. Dried coffee beans are sold to coffee producing companies in Belgium and Holland with the “Max Havelaar” fairtrade label |

Investments for a Better Future |
CDI-Bwamanda invests in schools, hospitals, water supply and road infrastructure. The local families also contribute to and actively participate in these activities. The farmer's income, generated by the commercialization of his agriculture products, gives him and his family the possibility to pay for health insurance and the education of their children. |
